Day 10
Read MoreAfter we made our way back from the mountain, we discussed what our next plan might be. We had looked for Yoshi on the way back to let him know that the wise old wizard wasn't much help, but he was nowhere to be seen.
Peak and Jasper mentioned that they were keen to investigate a source of fuel for the helicopter. We all agreed that was a useful idea as we needed a more efficient way of travelling.
It took ages to walk back from the mountain. We introduced ourselves. The other folk explained that they'd been here for quite some time. Others had also been and gone - the giant had taken them and they never returned.
Everyone took it in turns to tell their story.
The was a little guy with a helmet on, some sort of furry thing with a hat, twin outdoorsy girls, a guy similar to us, an American Civil War chap and two odd looking older fellows. The chap that was similar to us explained that he had crashed his helicopter some time ago nearby and the giant had captured him not long after crashing.
The two older gents were visibly troubled. They had various markings on them suggesting that they had been through various ordeals. They told us that they had been here for many years. They were made to watch their friends die in terrible ways.We knew we had to escape and quickly, before the giant returned. We had no choice but to help our new friends. Ordinarily, we may have been trapped but we had the help of a ghost robot!
We summoned Jumbles with a quick chorus of "All Night Long (all night)".
We remembered the song this time. Peak even had a go at the middle 8 chanting bit that nobody knows the correct lyrics for.The walk was uneventful and free of giant interactions, and it wasn't long before we could see a small hill in front of us with a large castle just beyond. We asked again if it was definitely abandoned, and he said it was.
At least it was the last time he visited it. He didn't say how long ago that was.We were glad to see everyone.
We explained to Hayes, Taylor and Drew who our new friends were and that we were on our way to the castle over there.
We wouldn't all fit in the chopper so we carried on walking, leaving the chopper behind.
Hayes said that he suspected something might be up when we didn't return when expected. That's when they decided to head out in the helicopter to see if they could find us.
We continued on toward the castle.
